Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation

The clinical implementation is simple; the underlying principles are complex.

Developed by Dr Christine Houghton after two years of research into the complexities of Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation. This is a completely NEW approach mimicking Mother Nature to RESTORE health rather than simply ‘carpet bombing’ and wiping out the good guys along with the bad guys. What we didn’t know until relatively recently is that the ‘friendly’ bacteria and other microbes living in a healthy digestive tract are absolutely essential for the immune system to function normally.

Founded on the approach of mimicking the principles of Nature, G.E.M.M.’s clinical implementation is simple, while its underlying principles are complex. The focus is on targeting upstream cellular processes, encompassing the science of Cell Biology, Immunology and Microbiology to address both acute and chronic disease.

The Gut-Immune-Metabolism-Disease Link

Around 80% of our immune system resides just below the layer of cells lining our digestive tract (or gut). In a person prone to infections of any kind, their gut will be involved. Even more interesting is the fact that the connection between the gut and the immune cells – the Gut-Immune interface – is linked to every other organ of the body.

G.E.M.M. leverages what is already known about cellular function to encompass the repair and restoration of the epithelial cells of the entire gut ecosystem.

G.E.M.M. allows the clinician to simultaneously – and non-invasively – target the key elements of the gut ecosystem, a process which in turn favourably modulates the function of distant organ systems.

Underpinned by 21st century science, Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation (G.E.M.M.) is a comprehensive system founded on the principles that Nature has used to sustain human life for millennia.

G.E.M.M. utilises a diet and lifestyle approach together with several evidence-based nutraceuticals that target key biochemical imbalances.

The G.E.M.M. (Gut Ecology & Metabolic Modulation) Protocol is an interconnected clinical strategy to treat both acute and chronic disease, beginning at the Gut-Immune interface and subsequently impacting the entire body.

The G.E.M.M. Protocol may be the missing gateway that connects gut health to the successful management of acute and chronic disease in general, especially appropriate in difficult-to-treat cases. As such, implementing G.E.M.M. is the gateway to promoting health.

How G.E.M.M. encompasses a broader physiology

When the G.E.M.M. Protocol is implemented as designed, its benefits extend to all physiological systems – but with immediate emphasis on the cardiometabolic well-being of the patient.

The resultant improvements in gut function that extend to circulatory function and glucose regulation – and beyond – measurably reduce a range of disease biomarkers. A diverse range of conditions may be responsive to the G.E.M.M. Protocol.

Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation (G.E.M.M.) – the Missing Link

The 4-hour online G.E.M.M. Protocol Training seminar available to practicing clinicians for purchase via Cell-Logic’s Learning Centre/Online Seminars.

Feedback received from the live events included:

“…the G.E.M.M. seminar in Brisbane is was one of the best learning experiences I have had, so relevant to my practice, I can’t wait to start several of my immune-compromised and cardiometabolic patients on this protocol on Monday when I get back to the clinic”.

“It just makes so much sense. Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation is a game-changer, the way the seminar was presented means I can start using the science tomorrow with my patients”.

For more information download brochure here.

Upon completion of the seminars, you will receive a Certificate of Completion to apply for your 4 CPE points through ATMS.

  • An absolute must for any practitioner who sees dysregulated inflammation, immune-compromised and/or metabolic disease patients with underlying gut issues.
  • Carefully consider Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation (G.E.M.M.) equally for your acute and chronic disease patients.
  • Learn how the G.E.M.M. Protocol focuses on restoring gut and distal organ homeostasis using principles that mimic nature.
